Manilva

Manilva is located on the southwestern edge of Malaga province, on the border with Cadiz. The town is split into two parts, the seaside resort and the charming, whitewashed, sleepy village, just 3 kilometers uphill from the coast.

The village itself, the original Manilva, is bordered by a beautiful vineyard of Moscatel grapes, used mainly for making sweet wine.

Down the coast, Manilva has managed to maintain the mentality of a small village without developing too excessively. The urbanizations of Sabinillas and Puerto Duquesa are within a few minutes’ drive. Malaga is 97 kilometers away and Gibraltar airport is closer.

History
The city has a fascinating history dating back to Roman times; there are still some remarkably well-preserved Roman sulfur baths. However, if you want to take advantage of these health-promoting waters, be prepared to dive into an underground cave and endure the smell of sulfur on your swimsuits! Also in the village is an interesting 17th-century church, and at the foot of the village two sections of aqueduct remain, in good condition.

Beaches
The beaches in the Manilva area are some of the best on the Costa del Sol and remain fairly quiet during the summer months.

Golf
Located on the Costa del Golf, Manilva means located in an area with a high density of golf courses, including: La Duquesa, Alemnara in Sotogrande, Alcaidesa Golf in San Roque, and Doña Julia in Casares, to name but a few. Manilva offers a perfect central location to reach the many golf courses on the Costa del Sol.
