The Costa del Golf

The Costa del Sol is one of Europe’s premier golf destinations, with 100 golf clubs to choose from. Most golf clubs have a handicap requirement of 28 for men and 36 for women, but this is not really controlled and a CFP is not a requirement to play. The climate offers warm temperatures throughout the year, making this region very suitable for golf. July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 28 °C. January is the coldest month with 11 °C. The month of July offers golfers an average of about 12 hours of sunshine. The provinces of Malaga and Cadiz – with their long coastlines – have the highest density of golf courses. An 8.2 on the LeadingCourses website indicates that Andalusia is very suitable as a golf destination.

Living by the golf course?

Why is a golf course property an interesting option for me as a buyer, you may ask? A golf course is excellently maintained every day. Not only the grass on which is played but the entire environment should always look outstanding. In addition, there is always a clubhouse available where you can enjoy snacks and drinks in close proximity to your home. If you are looking for a second home, an apartment or house on a golf course is definitely worth considering. Our top 5 reasons to live on a golf course:
  1. Security above all else Golf resorts generally have their own security system so you can rest assured that your property is well guarded. Gates, surveillance cameras and trained guards, among other things, ensure that no unwanted people enter the property.
  2. The view Golf courses on the Costa del Sol are often located on the hills behind the coastline. Partly because of this, the residential locations offer stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding mountains.
  3. The variety Actually, everything can be found on a golf course. From a detached villa to an apartment in an all-inclusive complex. And in almost all cases including associated facilities such as swimming pools, clubhouse, gym and catering.
  4. Excellent investment Families with children are attracted to residential areas in golf resorts because of their safety, beauty and quality. Partly because of this, an investment of a house on a golf course on the Costa del Sol is a safe choice with a possible time of sale in mind.
  5. Tee-off nice and close to Despite the fact that more and more non-golfers are choosing to live on a golf course, it is of course an ideal place to live if you do play golf. In the morning a walk to the tee-off, afterwards a drink in the clubhouse and in the evening a closing dinner with golf friends … all without having to leave the park by car.
